Radical New Party of Korwin‑Mikke Registered for Technical Reasons

A Polish court registered Janusz Korwin‑Mikke’s new Radical Right party on September 4, saying it serves a technical role while his Confederation party prepares to contest elections.

Radical Right Registration

The court registered the Radical Right party on September 4. Janusz Korwin‑Mikke told Rzeczpospolita that the party is needed for technical reasons, which he declined to detail. He added that the Confederation party is intended for election campaigning—its stated purpose.

The court’s decision to register the party is not binding, and the official abbreviation of the entity is Prawica‑R.

Complete Portfolio of Korwin‑Mikke Parties

Previously the court had registered a party named Confederation. Korwin‑Mikke said in mid‑September that he hopes the party will contest the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In addition to these two parties, Korwin‑Mikke still formally owns KORWiN, although it may soon be removed from the register for failing to file its financial report on time.

Umbrella Strategy of Confederation Korwin‑Mikke

The Confederation aims to act as an umbrella party, aggregating small groups and parties.

This arrangement helps the parliamentary Confederation—co‑created by New Hope, the National Movement, and previously Korona Braun—to bypass the 8 % electoral threshold required for entry.

Korwin‑Mikke said two weeks prior that they are already gathering various right‑wing factions, but he refused to disclose details, possibly about collaboration.

KoBra Does Not Field Candidates

Korwin‑Mikke was one of the founders of the Freedom and Independence Confederation in 2019 and served in the Sejm until 2023, leading KORWiN (Confederation of Renewal of the Republic, Freedom and Hope).

After the Confederation’s disappointing electoral result, he was accused of sabotaging the campaign, expelled from the Confederation, and replaced by Sławomir Mentzen, who renamed the party New Hope.

Korwin‑Mikke re‑registered KORWiN, with a small group of supporters following him, but recent speculation that he and Grzegorz Braun would launch KoBra in the next parliamentary elections was dismissed; KoBra will run candidates independently.
