Russian FM Blames West for Drone Provocations, Accuses Poland of Inciting Ukraine War

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zacharowa on Friday accused Western countries of using drone provocations to stoke fears of war and criticized Poland for its role in the Ukraine conflict.

Russian Foreign Ministry Condemns Western Drone Provocations

Maria Zacharowa declared that Russia is on a different stage of conflict, saying “here the fire is already burning” as opposed to the “cold wind” of the past. She warned that the West uses accusations against Russia together with drone incidents to convince its citizens that armaments and war preparations are necessary. Zacharowa cited Russian state media coverage of Poland’s emergency drills and hospital staff training as examples of propaganda aimed at domestic politics.

Kremlin Responds to Donald Tusk

In remarks about Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s description of a “new type of conflict,” Zacharowa dismissed the claim as nothing new, noting that Warsaw has historically used the Ukraine situation to confront Russia. She asserted that Poland was a leading instigator of the Ukraine war. No comment was made on Tusk’s subsequent remarks about further Baltic provocations.

Tusk Reports Latest Baltic Incident

On Thursday, October 2, Tusk reported that Russian naval vessels had staged another incident near the port of Szczecin, close to the Petrobaltic platform and pipelines. He said that such incidents are occurring almost daily in the Baltic Sea and urged an end to the illusion that there is no war, describing the situation as a “new, complex type of war.”
