Charge Includes Aggravated Driving Permitting
According to spokesperson Aneta Góźdź of the Radom Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the complaint submitted to the Grójec District Court contains the most serious charge under Article 177 §2 in conjunction with Article 178 §1a(2) of the Criminal Code: “Kamil S. is accused of causing a fatal accident while driving intoxicated.”
Nighttime Crash on Straight Road
The crash occurred at night on a straight stretch of road. Investigators found Kamil S. had 0.64 mg/L of alcohol in his breath. The spokesperson reports that at a road intersection he lost control, veered off the right edge of the lane, and struck a tree.
Passengers Suffered Fatal and Multiple Injuries
Besides the driver, three men were in the vehicle, two of whom were also intoxicated. Prosecutor Góźdź states that one passenger sustained injuries—including head trauma—and died at the scene; the other passengers also sustained injuries.
Additional Allegations of License Violation
The prosecutor also accuses Kamil S. of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (Article 178a §1) and of failing to comply with a decision to revoke his Category B driving licence (Article 180a). The spokesperson notes that he lacked the required licence to drive a passenger car.
Potential Penalty of 5–20 Years
According to the indictment, a conviction for a fatal accident under the conditions specified in Article 178 §1a(2) could lead to a sentence of 5 to 20 years imprisonment, reflecting the aggravated liability for an offence committed while intoxicated.
