Consul visits Ashdod port, offers aid
After learning about the arrests, the consul travelled to Ashdod port where flotilla participants were being transferred; he confirmed that three detained Poles will receive consular assistance in line with applicable regulations.
Polish citizens’ voluntary participation highlighted
The ministry reiterated that it had repeatedly warned flotilla participants of risks, adding that the Polish trio consciously opted to continue the voyage despite these cautions.
Poland’s Palestinian stance reiterated
Poland, which recognized Palestinian statehood in 1988, reiterated its support for a two‑state solution and its financial backing of Palestinian causes through UN agencies and bilateral programmes.
Scope of the seizure
Israel seized 41 of the 42 boats bound for Gaza; more than 400 people were detained, including MP Franciszek Sterczewski, Omar Faris, and Karolina “Nina” Ptak.
