Skoda Crash on Odrowąża Street Leaves One Dead, Another Unconscious

A Skoda carrying dialysis patients crashed on Odrowąża Street in Warsaw on Saturday morning, killing one passenger and leaving another unconscious.

Crash Details

The accident occurred before 6:00 A.M. on Saturday, 27 September on Odrowąża Street in the Targówek district. A Skoda vehicle, marked as a blood transport, left the road and struck a tramway pole. Four passengers were injured, two in serious condition.

Passenger Conditions

One passenger suffered cardiac arrest but was revived after several minutes of CPR performed by firefighters and medical rescue teams. All four passengers were hospitalized. On Thursday, 2 October, the 48‑year‑old woman died, while the 74‑year‑old man remains unconscious in a severe state. A 60‑year‑old passenger was discharged, pending further questioning.

Emergency Response

Four fire‑rescue teams, the city’s operational group, and five medical‑rescue squads responded on the scene. A traffic lane toward Ronda Żaba was blocked due to the collision.

Police Investigation

Police conducted an inquiry to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the incident. The driver, a 40‑year‑old male, was sober at the time of the crash.

Ongoing Analysis

Authorities continue to investigate the reasons behind the vehicle’s departure from the carriageway and impact with tram infrastructure.
