A 59‑year‑old kitesurfer died on Thursday after a wind‑induced fall during an attempt to board his kite board on Jastarnia’s shore near Zatoka Pucka, local police report.
Tragic Accident in Jastarnia
At roughly noon, duty officer Mirosław Monczak of the Puck County Police was alerted that a bloodied man lay on the shore of Polna Street in the Puck Bay area. Police officers later determined that the 59‑year‑old man was preparing to jump onto a kite board. With the kite attached but the board unmounted, a strong gust lifted him several metres and he fell onto a concrete sidewalk with great force.

Witnesses on the scene carried out rescue attempts until the arrival of the ambulance. The man suffered injuries that proved fatal, according to the responding police officer Mirosław Monczak. The scene was handled with the participation of the Puck District Prosecutor’s Office and a forensic doctor. Investigators found that the victim was a resident of the Masovian Voivodeship.
