Budda, a Polish YouTuber, was arrested in Tennessee, United States, on traffic violations and alleged visa breaches, while Poland considers filing an extradition request.
Detention in the United States
Budda was detained in Tennessee on suspicion of a traffic violation and breach of his U.S. residency conditions. He was taken to a Nashville detention facility but left after posting a $1,000 bail.
The Polish consulate in Washington is monitoring the situation and remains in contact with U.S. authorities. The extradition matter has been forwarded to the Ministry of Justice.
Budda Responds to Extradition Rumors
In Instagram Stories, Budda tweeted, “I’m waiting for the extradition that the media invented on an arm’s length.” He criticized Polish journalism as a different dimension and asked, “Where do you get your ideas?”
His lawyer, Mateusz Mickiewicz, added that the arrest stemmed from a motor‑ritual incident, noting that five people were detained for “pacing” on the road. He claimed Budda paid $1,000 bail and is not facing deportation to Poland.
Political and Legal Context in Poland
Polish prosecutors are pursuing a case against Budda for involvement in a criminal organization, tax fraud, and illegal gambling operations. He was one of ten people arrested.
Investigators say he ran online lottery contests offering prizes worth millions of złoty, allegedly earning tens of millions. During the investigation, 90 million zł were seized from bank accounts, 51 cars worth over 38 million zł, properties around 30 million zł, gold bars, and cash.
Assets and Allegations
Budda previously left Polish custody after posting a bail of 2 million zł and then fled to the United States. The court did not impose a travel ban. His lawyer stated the accusations are unsubstantiated.
