On Saturday, 4 October, around 11:20 a.m., a fire broke out at a large‑item waste container on Stanisław Moniuszki Street in the central district near the National Philharmonic. The container was ablaze and all items inside were consumed by the fire. No injuries were reported.

Emergency Response

One crew of the fire department was dispatched and promptly began firefighting operations. The blaze was efficiently extinguished. Police also intervened. At the time, the causes and circumstances of the fire were not yet known.

Event Context

At the time of the incident, the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition was taking place in the National Philharmonic. This is one of the world’s most important music events, hosted by Warsaw in 2025.
