Polish police arrested a Moldovan and a Ukrainian suspect after they broke into a Warsaw apartment and stole a safe containing over $250,000.
Police Respond Rapidly
After a burglary was reported in a Wilanów apartment, officers from the Warsaw Wilanów Police Station and the Mokotów Property Crime Division quickly intervened and secured the scene.
They gathered evidence and confirmed that a safe had been removed from the property.
Stolen Safe Held $250,000
Thieves used a lock pick to enter the premises and carried away a safe containing 250,000 U.S. dollars (about 903,500 PLN).
Evidence Leads to Arrests
Investigators tracked the suspect’s vehicle and discovered the hiding place of the thieves.
Within hours, they arrested a 49‑year‑old Moldovan and a 44‑year‑old Ukrainian, both acting together in the burglary.
Police also recovered a portion of the stolen cash.
Court Orders Three‑Month Detention
The Warsaw Ursynów District Court granted a precautionary measure, placing both men under temporary detention for three months.
They face up to ten years in prison on burglary with a mob charge.
