Fatal Train Collision Halts Traffic

A man was killed when an illegal crossing onto the tracks near Lesiów Kolonia, Radomsko County, was struck by a passing Mazowieckie rail train before 11 a.m., halting all train traffic.

Incident Details

A fatal collision occurred before 11 a.m. at Lesiów Kolonia, Radomsko County when a man illegally crossed over a railway curve and was struck by an oncoming Mazowieckie train. He died on the spot.

Emergency Response

The passenger train was stopped a few hundred metres from the site. Firefighters, in cooperation with the Railway Protection Service, safely evacuated all passengers. Three fire‑brigade units, a medical response team, several police patrols, railway protection officers, and a prosecutor are currently on scene.

Traffic Disruption

Both tracks are completely blocked, and rail movement may be delayed for several hours. Police, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are collecting evidence to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.

Public Safety Appeals

Authorities urge residents to exercise extreme caution around the tracks and to obey absolute prohibitions on entering the railways except at designated crossings or overpasses. Trains travel at high speed, and the stopping distance is much longer than that of road vehicles.

Passenger Notice

According to the passenger portal, train 21626/7 (KM Spółka z o.o.) operating from Radom Główny to Warsaw Gdańska was halted. All PKP INTERCITY trains were rerouted. The operator, Koleje Mazowieckie, introduced replacement bus service between Dobieszyn and Radom Główny and apologized for the inconvenience.
