Cyclist Pulled Under Tram in Bródna; Rescue Workers Deploy Heavy‑Duty Lifts

A line‑1 tram collided with a cyclist at the intersection of Kondratowicza and Rembielińska in Bródna after she ran a red light, and rescuers used cranes to lift the tram before she was transported to hospital.

Incident Details

At 21:00, a tram heading toward the Annopol loop hit a cyclist who crossed the intersection on a red signal. The cyclist was dragged under the tram for several meters and remained conscious during the extraction.

Rescue Operations

Medical teams and five fire‑fighting squads arrived at the scene. Heavy lifting equipment specifically designed for trams was deployed to raise the carriage and free the victim. After she was extracted, the cyclist was handed to paramedics and air‑lifted to hospital.

Police Investigation

Police officers and Warsaw Tramway technical staff were present. They continue to investigate the circumstances and sequence of the crash.

Transport Disruption

Due to a blocked crossing at Rembielińska/Kondratowicza, lines 1, 3 and 4 were rerouted via Rondo Żaba. An emergency service ‟Za Tramwaj” is operating on the route from Żerań Wschodni 71 to Rondo Żaba, covering multiple streets including Annopol, Inowłodzka, Marywilska and others.
