Polish security officials accuse Russia of ramping up provocations aimed at testing NATO’s resolve, while a 16‑year‑old Russian operative was handed over to Ukrainian authorities.
Russian Provocations Target NATO’s Patience
Polish special service coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak told Radio ZET that Russia has begun testing NATO’s resolve through a series of incidents on the Baltic Sea, including the interruption of cables, sabotage of underwater gas pipelines, and unusual aircraft and vessel movements under Russian flags near critical infrastructure.
Siemoniak added that the country is on its highest alert for cyber‑aggression, drone infiltrations and other diversions, and that the issue is grave enough to have prompted discussions with ministers from Denmark and Germany.
Polish Intelligence Claims Success in Countering Russian Operations
Siemoniak said that despite former President Trump’s efforts, Russia remains aggressive, yet most people are unaware of ongoing operations. He cited the arrest of several individuals, the conviction of one, and the deportation of a dozen from Poland, all part of a coordinated effort with the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, and the United States.
16‑Year‑Old Russian Operative Surrendered to Ukrainian Security Services
The Ukrainian Security Service reported that it received a 16‑year‑old Russian agent from Polish authorities. The teenager, originating from Kharkiv, had recruited other internet‑active youths for Russian‑financed terror activities in Ukraine.
His cooperation with Russian agents led to the targeting of two 15‑year‑old Kharkiv residents, who detonated two explosive devices near police stations in their hometown in December of the previous year.
