A Polish member of parliament has exposed how the Israeli army detained a Sumud flotilla on the night of 1–2 October, labeling the operation a barbaric state action.
Israel Army Detains Sumud Flotilla
On the night of 1–2 October the Israeli army stopped and seized vehicles belonging to the Global Sumud flotilla as Polish activists were disembarking for Gaza. Officials denied voluntary deportation, leading to detainment in Israeli custody. After release, the activists were escorted to Greece and are scheduled to return to Poland by 8 October.
Polish MP’s Reaction
MP Kołodziejczyk‑Sterczewski praised the activists as “whole, healthy, and determined” to continue fighting for a free Palestine. He noted two drone attacks, capture by Israeli forces, and five days in custody, expressing gratitude for their participation in Gaza protests and urging politicians to counter the “barbaric state” Israel.
Negotiations Over Gaza Ceasefire
Negotiations began Monday between Israeli and Hamas negotiators in Sharm el‑Sheikh under US mediation, potentially freeing all Israeli hostages in Gaza and several hundred Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. Disagreements over the Trump peace plan persist, with Hamas demanding withdrawal of Israeli troops and control by Palestinian technocrats, while the US and Israel seek an international council in the area. The talks come two years after the Hamas assault on Israel that sparked the current war.
