On Monday, President Trump told reporters at the White House that he had decided to provide maneuverable Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. He said he still needed to clarify how Kyiv would employ the weapons and where they would be deployed. He added that war should never start.

Ukrainian Request and Russian Concerns

President Volodymyr Zelenski has requested that the United States sell Tomahawks to European allies for shipment to Ukraine. The missiles can reach 2,500 km, putting Moscow within range. Vladimir Putin warned that U.S. delivery would damage U.S.–Russia relations, potentially destroying their positive aspects.

Trump Comments on Gaza Negotiations

During the same briefing, Trump said Hamas had agreed to “very important” points during peace talks about the Gaza Strip. He noted that Hamas representatives had begun discussions in Egypt on a ceasefire. Trump said the talks had made “significant progress” and he expects success soon.
