Trump Blasts Thunberg as Troublemaker
Former U.S. President Donald Trump criticised Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in a sharp statement, calling her a “troublemaker” and saying she has anger‑management issues and should see a doctor. He also described her as a young person who appears both furious and crazed. Trump’s remarks were made amid comments on recent Gaza events.
Thunberg’s Gaza Aid Attempt
Thunberg was among those seized by Israeli forces aboard the vessel Sumud while moving through international waters en route to Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid. She and hundreds of others from various countries were detained and relocated to undisclosed public locations; some were later deported.
According to a Guardian report citing the Swedish Foreign Ministry, Thunberg complained of poor treatment by Israeli soldiers, including inadequate food and water supplies.
Previous US Criticisms of Thunberg
Trump has previously criticised Thunberg. In 2019, he publicly opposed Time magazine’s decision to name her “Person of the Year,” writing that she must address her anger issues before taking any action.
Trump Declares Progress in Gaza Negotiations
Trump also stated that talks with Hamas about ending hostilities in Gaza are moving positively, predicting a breakthrough soon and noting that Hamas has agreed to very important measures. He offered no further details during his Monday speech on October 6.
