Bus Plows Into PKP Track Area in Ursus, Causes Two‑Hour Delay

A Volkswagen bus driver crashed into a Polish Railways track area in Ursus at 16:05 on 8 October, blocking traffic for roughly two hours.

Incident Details

A bus driver entered the PKP track area on Traktorzystów Street around 16:05 on 8 October, causing a two‑hour delay. Firefighters, police, and railway personnel were dispatched immediately.

Emergency Response

The driver lost control, damaged the track perimeter fence, and entered the rail tracks, stopping perilously close to passing long‑distance trains. Police, firefighting units, railway officers, and PKP technicians coordinated to secure the site.

Traffic Impact

Firefighters spent nearly two hours removing the vehicle, interrupted several times by passing trains to avoid disrupting rail traffic. Police installed a shuttle pattern on Traktorzystów, a street used by many city buses, which intensified the delay.

Resolution and Aftermath

By 18:00 the bus was removed and traffic flow fully restored. Police classified the incident as a collision and issued a fine to the driver.
