He Lost His Parents in Hamas Attack; Now Urges End to Violence

Maoz Inon, whose parents were killed by a Hamas rocket blast from Gaza, calls today for an immediate peace that will safeguard all.

Agreement Framework Revealed

Parties signed a first‑stage deal that calls for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from parts of the Gaza Strip, the release of Hamas prisoners, and the return of Palestinian detainees held in Israel.

Negotiations also aim to end fighting, return Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

Maoz Inon Urges End to Violence

At an interview, Inon explained that the brutal attack that killed his parents two years ago still motivates his fight for lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Four Pillars of Long‑Term Security

Inon says true security equals peace and that the war must end immediately, hostages be freed and the occupation abandoned.

He stresses a “shared future” for both peoples, requiring international engagement through incentives and sanctions to stop war‑hoarders from derailing the political process.

Reconciliation, he adds, must follow the tragedy, building trust, initiating grassroots healing and ensuring a better tomorrow.

Future for Gaza Depends on Negotiations

The deal envisages 20 Israelis and the bodies of 30 captives returning from Gaza on Monday, 13 October; a similar number of Palestinians will gain freedom that same day.

Humanitarian aid will also be allowed into Gaza, but the parties have yet to agree on further steps such as Israel’s complete withdrawal and the governance of the enclave.

Donald Trump’s proposal, for instance, calls for international peacekeeping forces and the disarmament of Hamas, but has not yet secured Turkish or Palestinian acceptance.
