Sieglinde High Alters Weather Across Europe, Poland Caught Between Two Forces

Poland’s weather this week hinges on the shifting Sieglinde high, as a dry, warm front sweeps from Denmark to the Balkans while eastern Europe faces increased rainfall.

Weather for Europe

Next week a noticeably stronger high pressure will develop across western and central Europe, bringing dry conditions that contrast with the golden autumn seen at the end of last week.

The high will stretch from Denmark to France and the Balkans, delivering widespread dry weather. Iceland will be about 3 °C warmer than Poland, reaching 12–13 °C.

In eastern Europe, stronger rainfall is expected, and Poland will find itself straddling the boundary of these pressure systems, with frequent showers and a cooling trend anticipated.

Poland Weather Over the Weekend

According to IMGW synoptics, Friday will be dominated by cloud cover nationwide, with light rain possible in the east. It will be the warmest day of the week, with maximum temperatures of 13–16 °C, reaching 18 °C in the west.

Saturday will see similar highs of 12–15 °C, while the south could reach 17 °C. Sunday may bring more sunshine and lower maximum temperatures of 11–15 °C.

Certainly, the south will experience more clouds and light rainfall, winds will weaken, with gusty winds only in the east and westerly or west‑north‑westerly elsewhere.

Detailed Forecast for the Next Few Days

From Monday onward, temperatures will cool noticeably. The south and southwest will register 8–10 °C, with rain expected in the south and northeastern regions.

Tuesday will remain similar: maximum 8 °C in the south and east, 14 °C in the west, and cooler 5–7 °C in the foothills of the Carpathians. Winds will be moderate from the northwest and west.

Wednesday and Thursday will maintain similar temperatures, with the coldest conditions in foothills and mountains, temperatures dipping to 0–3 °C.
