Poll: Should Hołownia Leave Polish Politics?

A survey by SW Research for Rzeczpospolita asked respondents whether Szymon Hołownia should exit Polish politics. 55.8% answered yes, 19.7% said no, and 24.5% were undecided. Women (58%) were slightly more supportive of his departure than men (53%), and the rate increased with age—from 43% among the youngest to 60% among the oldest, according to Wiktoria Maruszczak of SW Research. The survey was conducted on 7–8 October 2025.

Trust Ranking: Hołowni Receives Low Score

Opposition leader Szymon Hołownia also faces declining trust. According to a study by the Center for Social Opinion Research, 38% of respondents trust him, and 38% distrust him. The highest trust rating went to Chairman Karol Nawrocki at 58%, followed by Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz and Radosław Sikorski at 45% each.

Hołownia Aims for New Post; ‘Chance Not Great’

Some time ago, Hołownia announced he would not run for the head of Poland 2050 but would seek the role of UN High Commissioner for Refugees. To secure the nomination, he requires support from Polish authorities, including the president. Hence he has been working to build good relations with Karol Nawrocki and Jarosław Kaczyński. The UN Secretary‑General António Guterres will decide on the appointment. Hołownia believes he has good relations with Guterres and, though he admits the chances are slim due to the complex and unpredictable nature of the UN, he sees hope in re‑entering the position that allows him to focus on a language he knows from his prior life that everyone can understand, regardless of views, religion, language, or skin color.
