Taxi Driver Collides With Tram on Warsaw’s Żoliborz

At the junction of Adam Mickiewicz Street with Zajączka Street in Warsaw’s Żoliborz, a tram collided with a taxi. During the emergency response road‑traffic services were halted, and motorists faced significant congestion.

Fault Lies With Taxi Driver

Preliminary findings show that the driver of the Mercedes‑branded taxi failed to yield and entered the path of the oncoming tram, causing major damage to the passenger vehicle.

Emergency Response Teams

Fire brigades from the Academy of Fire Protection, a medical rescue unit, police, and Warsaw Tram Supervisory authorities arrived on site, secured the area, cut power to the vehicle, and inspected for fluid leaks.

Service Disruption and Traffic Impact

The tram traffic remained blocked throughout the operation, which also affected drivers near the Mickiewicz‑Zajączka intersection. Traffic was gradually restored after cleanup was completed.
