Tusk Mocks PiS Protest, Challenges Kaczyński

Former Polish prime minister Donald Tusk criticized the PiS protest in Warsaw on Oct. 11, calling it a fiasco and implying Kaczyński would have handled it better by bringing migrants instead of rallying protesters.

Tusk announced that the “great march” was a fiasco, telling Kaczyński that the opposition should have focused on bringing migrants rather than organizing a protest.

Protest against migration

The demonstration, held on Zamkowe Square on October 11, was originally aimed at opposing illegal migration and the migration pact. Media reported that Poland would be excluded from the arrangement, while Kaczyński said Poland would not host migrants, would seal the Belarus border, tighten visa and asylum rules, and become a model.

Kaczyński calls for Tusk’s dismissal

At the protest Kaczyński shouted, “We must fight, we must force an outcome, and I say at the end we must dismiss Tusk and this government. Enough with Tusk.”

EU‑Mercosur trade deal controversy

Kaczyński criticized the EU‑Mercosur agreement, labeling it a tragedy for Polish agriculture and a threat to rural communities.
