Green Marszałkowska Reopens Tram Lines After June 2025 Upgrade Completion

The rebuilt track on Marszałkowska Avenue was tested on 11 October, confirming safe tram operations; from 13 October lines 4, 15, 16, 18 and buses 151 and 520 return across the entire street.

First Tests Confirm Safe Tram Crossing

Tram operators conducted trials on 11 October with a measurement carriage and line units through the reconstructed track in alei Marszałkowska, verifying safe passing and stop handling. After the tests, temporary speed limits imposed before the refurbishment will be lifted.

Full Return of Tram Lines 4, 15, 16, 18

Starting 13 October, tram lines 4 (Żerań Wschodni – Wyścigi), 15 (Marymont‑Potok – P+R Al. Krakowska), 16 (Miasteczko Wilanów – Piaski, some routes to Muranowska) and 18 (Żerań FSO – PKP Służewiec) resume service along the entire length of Marszałkowska. The temporary replacement line 66 is withdrawn, and buses 151 and 520 revert to their standard routes (151 to Pl. Konstytucji, 520 to Centralny Dworca).

Ochota Tram Service Restarts

Tram traffic also resumes on Grójecka and Al. Krakowska in Ochota, with the previously paused segment at Banacha Street bypassed. Lines 9, 15, 27 and 14 (Miasteczko Wilanów – Pl. Narutowicza) return to their fixed routes, while services Z-9 and Z‑14 are suspended.

Updated Driver and Pedestrian Facilities

Along Marszałkowska, the stretch between Królewska and Widok is now a two‑way bidirectional lane with designated right‑turns: onto Pl. Bankowego on Sienkiewicza and Świętokrzyska; and toward Dmowskiego roundabout on Świętokrzyska. Fencing at Ogrod Saska (Królewska – Senatorska) has been removed, and city works will finish intersections, crossings and bike lanes without affecting tram traffic.

Completion of Królewska–Widok Modernisation

The overhaul of the road section Królewska–Widok finishes with a track bed laid on ballast; autumn 2025 and spring 2026 will see the planting of green trees and shade trees as announced by the city. Upcoming pedestrian improvements include a new crossing from Złote to Centralny square this fall and a crossing on Sienkiewicza Street next summer.
