In a TVN24 studio, journalist Konrad Piasecki confronted PiS MEP Waldemar Buda during a debate on a new law, demanding he stop speaking.
Heat in the Studio
In the television program “Kawa na ławę” on TVN24 discussions over a draft law concerning neosędziowie (new judges) grew heated. Host Konrad Piasecki asked, “How do I tell you to be quiet?”
Neosędziowie Proposal Sparks Clash
While Piasecki summarized the Justice Minister’s proposal, Błażej Poboż, adviser to the mayor, and PiS MEP Waldemar Buda interrupted him. Piasecki replied, “You can try to shout at me, but my voice is loud, so calm down.” Buda then attempted to shout at opposition MEP Andrzej Halicki, claiming the law would never be adopted.
Back‑and‑Forth Among Politicians
Halicki joined the confrontation and asked which language could be used to tell the hosts they should be quiet. Piasecki told Buda to stop interrupting other guests as the exchange grew tense.
Left MEP Responds to Criticism
Joanna Scheuring‑Wielgus interrupted Halicki and criticized Poboż’s earlier remarks. She said minister Żurek issued a regulation identical to that of Zbigniew Ziobro, who altered judge assignments. Scheuring‑Wielgus accused Ziobro of manually determining which judge handled which case. Poboż countered that she was telling nonsense, prompting response from PSL MEP Piotr Zgorzelski, who warned against disrespect toward women.
Piasecki Confronts Politicians
Buda again cut off Zgorzelski’s remarks, but Piasecki finally spoke. He said PiS tactics involve shouting at hosts and journalists to provoke anger. He declared that he would not let the MEP speak again on the program and would not give him a voice because of his behavior. Piasecki emphasized that each participant had a chance to speak and called for adherence to standards.
