Police Confirm Deaths of Two Teenagers in Rzeszów After 48‑Hour Challenge Search

Polish police confirm the deaths of a 14‑year‑old and a 15‑year‑old from Rzeszów after a 48‑Hour Challenge‑related search.

Police End Search, Bodies Found

On Saturday, 11 October, the Podkarpacie police announced that the search for a 14‑year‑old Rzeszów resident and a 15‑year‑old Sanok County resident had concluded. Their bodies were found in a public green area in Rzeszów.

Police Warn About Dangerous Trend

The game encourages participants to disappear for 48 hours, faking their own vanishing so that more people search for them, earning extra “points.” Police noted that the more mentions of the missing person online, the more points the player gains.

The police preliminarily ruled out the involvement of outside parties in the teenagers’ deaths. The 14‑year‑old last communicated with family around 18:00 on Friday; afterwards, her phone became inactive.

Intensive Search Operations

Search efforts involved police, firefighters, and rescue teams from the Rzeszów Association of Civil Search Teams with Dogs (STORAT). The prosecutor’s office secured the bodies for further examination.
