Omega Weather System Drives Poland’s Autumn Lull

The unusually shaped Omega high‑pressure system, stretching from Spain to Iceland, is steering Poland into a persistent autumnal lull, forecast to bring cooler, cloud‑laden days through the week.

Variable Weather Across Europe

The unusually shaped Omega high‑pressure system, stretching from Spain to Iceland, is influencing weather across the continent.

Satellite imagery shows the system’s distinctive pressure arrangement, causing calm conditions over Iceland, France, and the Iberian Peninsula, while Poland experiences markedly cooler temperatures.

Significant weather shifts are not expected until next week when lower‑pressure systems begin moving in from the Atlantic.

Poland’s Weather Outlook for the Week

According to the latest forecast, Poland will see a continuation of the autumnal lull: overcast and rainy with brief sunny periods.

Daytime temperatures will stay below 12-15 °C, with nighttime lows falling below 5 °C and potential frost in some areas; moderate, gusty winds will be felt in the east and north.

Rain is expected from Tuesday onwards, snow may fall in the mountains, and considerable sunshine will arrive in much of the country only by Sunday.

Hydrological Drought Persists in Poland

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reports that many parts of Poland remain in a hydrological drought, indicating a shortage of water resources in rivers and lakes.

Low water levels and reduced flows are the main symptoms, with some forested areas facing a minor fire risk.
