Court Rejects Hard Detention for “Great Bu”

On Tuesday, October 14 a lower court in Lublin rejected a hard‑detention request for suspect Patryk M., saying the measure would not ensure fair proceedings even with an asset guarantee.

Court Denies Hard Detention

A decision was made on Tuesday, October 14 during a closed session of the Lublin District Court. The court declined to impose a hard detention on the accused.

Proposed Asset Bond

Patryk M.’s lawyer had submitted a request for hard detention and offered an asset bond designed to allow the suspect to return to custody without temporary arrest. The court concluded that such a bond would not secure the proper course of proceedings.

Arrest at Hamburg Airport

The suspect was detained on 12 September at the Hamburg airport, where he was scheduled to fly to the United Arab Emirates. He was wanted under a European arrest warrant and is alleged to have participated in a drug‑trading organized crime group active in Poland, the Netherlands, and Spain between 2017 and 2018.

Fame as a Freak‑Fight Participant

Known as “Great Bu,” he has gained notoriety through freak‑fight mixed‑martial‑arts events and has posted photographs with Karol Nawrocki, former IPN chief and current President of Poland.

Non‑Binding Decision and Appeal Possibility

The decision of the Lublin court is not final. The defense may file an appeal with the appellate court.
