Lukashenko Warns Trump’s Tomahawk Plan Could Spark Nuclear War

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, saying it could spark a nuclear conflict.

According to a BelTA report, Lukashenko said on 14 October that Trump’s suggestion of sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if the war does not end is unacceptable.

He added that “no Tomahawks will solve the problem” and that the move would “lead to an escalation of the conflict to a nuclear level.”

U.S.–Belarus Relations

At a meeting in Minsk that focused on global affairs, Lukashenko said he intends to work on future Belarus–U.S. relations.

He stressed the importance of defining “red lines” that Belarus would not tolerate, describing them as “now.”

Trump Discusses Tomahawks with Zelensky

On 12 October, Trump had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which he mentioned the possibility of sending long‑range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

Trump stated that he would need to discuss the proposal with Russia and that the missiles represented a new phase of aggression.
