From Friday evening to Monday morning, Warsaw road crews will replace the pavement on Górczewska Street near the “Moczydło” pools, closing the lane toward the city centre and diverting buses and traffic.
Roadworks on Górczewska Street
On Friday, 17 October evening until Monday, 20 October morning, Warsaw road crews will replace the surface of Górczewska Street near the “Moczydło” swimming pools. Heavy machinery will work on the shoulder closer to the pools, and the intersection with Elekcyjna Street will also be closed, extending the overall segment slightly beyond the initial closure.
Closed passage to the city centre
At 10 pm on 17 October, the southbound lane of Górczewska toward the city centre—from Ciołka Street to Archbishop Tysiąclecia Avenue—will be closed. Vehicles coming from Bem will be diverted onto Jan Olbrahct Street, but may also turn left onto Księcia Janusza and Ciołka Streets. Drivers heading toward Elekcyjna will only reach Bitwy pod Lenino Street. From Deotymy and Ciołka onto Górczewska only right turns toward Bem are allowed.
The detour runs via Jan Olbrahct, Redutowa, and Wolska Streets to Archbishop Tysiąclecia Avenue. Residents of Bem can bypass the closed section via Powstańców Śląskich to Połczyńska and Wolska or to Wrocławska, Radiowa, Dywizjon 303, and Obozowa, then onto Archbishop Tysiąclecia Avenue or Młynarska. The repaired lane opens at 4:00 am on Monday, 20 October.
Bus routes altered
During the works, buses on lines 129 and 249 will avoid the intersection of Górczewska and Deotymy, instead proceeding along Ciołka Street toward Koło. Lines 171 and 190 heading toward Torwar and CH Marki will turn onto Ciołka, travel to Obozowa, then return to their standard routes via Archbishop Tysiąclecia Avenue. Line 184 buses, in both directions, will run parallel to their normal path through Jan Olbrahct and Redutowa Streets.
Lines 523 toward Olszynka Grochowska and N43 toward Central Station will deviate early, turning onto Jan Olbrahct, then traveling Redutowa and Wolska, rejoining their routes at the PKP Wola stop. Night line N42 toward Central Station will leave Redutowa for Wolska, then through Archbishop Tysiąclecia to Górczewska.
Additional works on Powstańców Śląskich
Road crews will also work on a section of Powstańców Śląskich Street at the same time. Lines 171, 184 and N43 will have detours on that stretch as well.
