On Wednesday, October 15, former Polish PM Donald Tusk visited Piotrków Trybunalski, where a protest erupted and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki intervened to restore order.
Tusk’s Visit and Speech
On Wednesday, October 15, former Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited Piotrków Trybunalski to meet supporters and voters, summarising the coalition’s two‑year rule during a speech.
Protest Erupts
In the hall, activists shouted and raised banners reading “We already toppled a government” and “Poland for millions, not for millionaires.” The speaker’s words could not be heard as the protest unfolded.
Prime Minister Intervenes
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stepped forward, asking the activist to pause and saying “I will finish, and then you will have the chance to speak. There are rules here, and we are not abandoning the culture of dialogue.” He added that she was disrupting not him but “hundreds of people who came to our meeting.”
Crowd Chants Tusk
Following the PM’s remarks, the crowd began chanting “Donald Tusk,” which drowned out the activist’s shout.
