The fifth edition of the 5‑mile Włochy District race will run on Sunday, October 19, closing streets and altering bus routes from the district office to Cosmos Gardens Park.
Race Details and Route
The 5‑mile Włochy District race begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 19, taking competitors from the district office through a series of streets—including Podborska, Borsucza, Rakowska, Instalatorów, Równoległa, Szybka, Jutrzenka—through roundabouts at Beczka, Daimler, Budka Szczęśliwickie, Wiktoryn, Naukowa, Starowiejska, Mikołajska, Śląska, Drukarzy, Owalna, Techników, Przecznica, Przesmyk, Cegielnian, Sympatyczna—before reaching the finish at Cosmos Gardens Park.
A special accompanying march will run alongside the main race, adding to the event’s unique character with many twists and turns.
Traffic and Pedestrian Restrictions
Streets along the course will close from about 10:00 am, with traffic resuming progressively after the last runner finishes. The final segment will reopen around 12:30 pm.
All exits from residential areas and direct access streets to the course will be shut. Police will allow residents of Stare Włochy to use Dziupli, Płużańska, Składowa, Stawy, and Techników streets when possible.
Drivers cannot turn from Krakowska Alley onto Podborska, nor exit via Bakalarska from the shopping centre parking to reach Wagonowa. On Alej Jerozolimskich, drivers may not head toward Jutrzenka; only those approaching the roundabout may turn towards the residences.
From 10:00 to 13:00, stopping and parking, even on designated bays, is prohibited along the route. Zebra crossings will be closed; pedestrians may cross only at locations and times indicated by police or security units.
Bus Rerouting
Between 10:00 and 12:30, bus lines 127, 129, and 228 will use detour routes. Bus 127 will travel both directions along Popularna, Bolesław Chrobrego, Globusowa, Wałowicka, and Potrzebna to Świerszcz. Bus 129 will depart from Dźwigowa via Globusowa towards Bolesław Chrobrego.
Line 228 will operate two detour variants: it will terminate early on Krakowska Alley at the Rakowiec 01 stop, not entering Instalatorów, and its first Mokotów-bound stop will be 1 Sierpnia 03 on 1 Sierpnia Street. Buses that usually run between Wierzbno metro and Instalatorów will end at Krakowska Alley for Rakowiec, while those on the longer Metro Wierzbno‑Ursus‑Ratusz route will bypass Instalatorów and instead travel Krakowska, Łopuszańska, Jerozolimskie Avenues, Popularna, and Bolesław Chrobrego to Globusowa.
Additional Rules
During the race, all foot‑bridges (zebry) will be closed. Pedestrians must cross only where directed by police or order‑keeping services.
