On Tuesday, 14 October, Thomas Rose was sworn in as United States ambassador to Poland, amid tensions involving Israel’s Netanyahu and Poland’s President Duda.

Thomas Rose was officially sworn into office at the U.S. Department of State on Tuesday, 14 October, and the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw announced the appointment on its social‑media channels.
The statement congratulated Rose and noted that he would now represent the President of the United States in strengthening the U.S.–Polish alliance with a trusted partner.
Who is Thomas Rose?
Rose is an entrepreneur, publisher, and right‑wing political commentator. He studied history and diplomacy at the University of Bordeaux and Columbia University.
In the 1980s he worked as a journalist in Japan, and from 1997 to 2005 he was publisher and director of the Jerusalem Post. During President Trump’s first term he served as an adviser to Vice‑President Mike Pence.
Prior to his nomination, Rose had publicly commented on Polish politics, criticizing former Prime Minister Donald Tusk for allegedly threatening Netanyahu and praising President Duda for persuading Tusk to reverse the decision guaranteeing Netanyahu would not be arrested under the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant.
He has also spoken favorably about Polish officials, describing Radosław Sikorski as a “great Polish patriot” and one of the most experienced statesmen on the European stage. Rose has said he will seek to improve relations between Poland and Israel.
