Triple Murder in Barcice: Prosecutors Uncover Unexpected Lead

New Information on the 25‑Year‑Old Detainee

Polish prosecutors revealed fresh details about the 25‑year‑old who was detained in connection with the triple murder in Barcice Górne, Lower Silesia. Police clarify that they do not yet consider him a perpetrator but state he must provide information on the case. In public discourse, claims emerged that the man had psychiatric treatment or had recently been released from prison. The prosecutor’s office does not confirm these allegations. The suspect has not yet faced formal charges. At present, authorities cannot affirm that he has a criminal record or psychiatric history. However, in the prosecutor’s information systems he is listed as a victim. Prosecutor Justyna Rataj‑Mykietyn said this in an interview with o2.pl, but will not disclose details of the case in which he was a victim.

To date, he has not been questioned. Investigators are also searching for the murder weapon, having identified several possible items. Each tool could have been used to commit the crime. The prosecution is conducting comprehensive actions to determine which item was used, which can only be confirmed after the autopsy.

The Crime in Barcice Górne

On Wednesday, October 15, three bodies were found in a house in Barcice Górne, Lower Silesian Voivodeship: a 52‑year‑old woman and two men aged 45 and 66. Investigators do not rule out the involvement of third parties. Search for the 25‑year‑old resident of the house began immediately. He was located shortly thereafter in a derelict property in the municipality of Stary Sącz. During arrest, he was aggressive, possessed a dangerous tool, and was subdued by officers, said Deputy Inspector Katarzyna Cisło of the Kraków Voivodeship Police Headquarters. Officers suspected drug influence, so an ambulance was called to the scene. Deputy Inspector Cisło also noted that police had intervened seven times in the house over the past two years. Family disputes caused by the 25‑year‑old were cited as the underlying issue.
