Robert Telus Faces Another Blunder Over Bitcoin Question

Polish former agriculture minister Robert Telus was recently confronted by TikTok creator Mateusz Wiktorowicz, who asked him whether he would prefer 10,000 zlotys or a bitcoin.

Robert Telus Asked Who Is Bitcoin

During a recent interview in the Polish parliament, TikTok creator vv_mati (Mateusz Wiktorowicz) asked former agriculture minister Robert Telus whether he would rather receive 10,000 zlotys or a bitcoin.

Telus admitted he did not know what a bitcoin is, prompting Wiktorowicz to explain that it is the largest cryptocurrency, worth about $125,000 as of 17 October 2023.

He then said he loves the Polish currency and would prefer the 10,000 zlotys, citing his unfamiliarity with the bitcoin value.

Polish National Anthem Author Question

The same TikTok creator asked Telus who wrote the Polish national anthem. After a brief pause, Telus answered “Wysocki,” but corrected himself, saying the right answer was “Józef Wybicki.”

What Is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is the world’s first cryptocurrency, created in 2009 by the anonymous figure Satoshi Nakamoto. Initially a programmer experiment, it rose to prominence through the Silk Road black‑market exchange and is now used for direct trade and investment. It operates outside state control and its price can fluctuate sharply.
