Unattended Luggage Halts Warsaw Line 2 Services; Operators on Site

On Friday, 17 October, an abandoned suitcase at Bemowo station led Warsaw’s M2 subway to run a shortened route between Bródno and Księcia Janusza, closing Bemowo and Ulrychów stations.

M2 Service Alteration

Trains on the M2 line now operate on a reduced route from Bródno to Księcia Janusza, bypassing the western segment that includes Bemowo and Ulrychów stations.

Route Changes and Station Closures

Passengers are not allowed into the closed‑out stations, and the service between Księcia Janusza and the line’s western terminus has been halted until safety checks are completed.

Cause and Safety Measures

The change was triggered by a piece of unattended baggage at Bemowo station. Fire, security and explosives teams have conducted a mine‑pyrotechnic investigation to ensure the safety of travelers and staff.

Passenger Advisories

Until the operational assessment ends, trains will continue on the shortened route. Operators will notify the public of any adjustments or the resumption of normal service. Passengers are advised to use the bus line instead of the affected subway section.
