Drunk 46‑Year‑Old Arrested While Driving With 12‑Year‑Old Son During Speed Check

A 46‑year‑old man from Załuski was detained in Bogusławice on October 16 after a speed check revealed he was driving with a 12‑year‑old son and over 1.5 promille alcohol.

On Wednesday, 16 October after noon, traffic police from Płońsk conducted a speed measurement in Bogusławice and stopped a Mazda driver who exceeded the limit by 19 km/h. During the conversation officers sensed the driver was intoxicated.

Passenger: 12‑Year‑Old Son

The driver, who was returning from shopping to his home, had his 12‑year‑old son in the car during the incident.

Breathalyzer Test: 1.5 Promille

A breathalyser confirmed the driver had more than 1.5 promille alcohol in his bloodstream.

The driver was prohibited from driving and his licence was revoked electronically. The vehicle was taken to a guarded parking lot, and the child was handed over to a family member who arrived at the scene. The man was detained and faced charges of driving while intoxicated, with penalties up to three years’ imprisonment, a multi‑year driving ban, and a financial contribution to victim assistance and post‑penitentiary aid.
