The Presidential Palace has reacted to Gazeta.pl’s inquiry about President Karol Nawrocki’s asset statement, which remains unpublished.
Presidential Spokesperson Responds to Gazeta.pl Inquiry
The spokesperson was asked about Nawrocki’s asset statement; the document has not yet been released. The president plans to send a request to the first President of the Supreme Court to grant public access, as stated in a Polsat interview. He added that the president has nothing to hide, a claim he has reiterated by publishing his prior declarations during the campaign.
Asset Statement Still Unreleased
Under current law, the president must submit an annual asset declaration to the Supreme Court, but the document is not public unless consent is granted. President Duda did so, but Nawrocki’s declaration remains withheld; Supreme Court President Małgorzata Manowska denied providing it, noting the president has not filed a statement of consent for the 2024 disclosure.
Property Disclosure During Campaign
During the campaign media revealed that the president and his wife owned an apartment in Gdańsk. An aide, Emilia Wierzbicka, posted the documentation on social media. In the 2020 statement Nawrocki reported roughly 186,000 PLN earned mainly as director of the Second World War Museum in Gdańsk and from contract work, and listed ownership of two Gdańsk apartments, 50 % co‑ownership of another property, 48,000 PLN in cash savings, and a 2011 Opel Insignia.
