At approximately 12:25 a.m., the police bus, fully equipped with emergency lights and sirens, entered the intersection on a red signal and struck a Toyota passenger van that was travelling normally.

The bus was a Mercedes OPP, while the van was a Toyota driven by a foreign driver.
Damage and Impact
The bus collided with a pedestrian signal, a traffic sign, and a pylon before coming to rest on a tram track. The force of the impact was significant, causing extensive damage to both vehicles, which are deemed unsalvageable.
Injuries
Five people were injured; the Toyota driver and four police officers were transported to a hospital.
Emergency Response
Two fire brigade units, five medical rescue teams, several police patrols, and operator traffic control from ZTM are on the scene. Two lanes each direction towards Bankowy and Mokotów are blocked. Officers were heading to the incident when it occurred.
