Iranian Minister Outraged by Sikorski’s Move; Foreign Minister Responds

On 14 October, an Iranian minister blasted the presentation of a drone at the British Parliament, accusing it of falsely linking Iran to Russian attacks on Ukraine, prompting a swift reply from Poland’s Foreign Minister.

Iranian Minister Criticizes Sikorski

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, condemned Radosław Sikorski’s presentation in the British Parliament, calling it a “pathetic scene staged by Israel’s lobby and its sponsors.”

Drone Presentation Allegedly Linked to Iran

Araghchi claimed that a drone, which Russians used in a recent attack on Ukraine, was presented as part of a demonstration. He argued that the move was meant to draw attention to Iran’s support for Russia, provoking discontent in Tehran.

Iran Calls for Clarification and Talks

Araghchi stated that Iran is ready to discuss the facts “in order to clarify the situation, especially after this absurd portrayal,” and urged that hostile parties crafting fabricated narratives be confronted.

Sikorski Responds to Criticism

Sikorski immediately replied to the Iranian minister’s post, noting that the comments were written in Polish. He warned that “it would have been better not to sell drones and production licenses to Russia during the aggression against Ukraine,” and wished the Iranian people “that their government, rather than exporting the Islamic revolution and enriching its uranium, would rebuild Persian civilization that once amazed the world.”
