Israel Launches Series of Attacks on Gaza Targets After Serious Breach of Ceasefire

Israeli forces began a series of strikes on Hamas targets in southern Gaza on Sunday after an alleged serious breach of the ceasefire, according to the IDF.

IDF Launches Attacks

On Sunday afternoon, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) began a series of strikes against Hamas targets in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army said.

Alleged Hamas Missile Attacks

Hours earlier, the IDF reported that Hamas militants had fired anti‑tank and artillery rockets at IDF soldiers who, under the ceasefire, were dismantling terrorist infrastructure near Rafah.

Casualties and Response

The strikes reportedly killed two Israeli soldiers. In retaliation, the IDF said it aimed to eliminate the threat and destroy tunnels and military structures used for terror activities.

Hamas Denies Presence in Rafah

Hamas officials claim they had no contact with any fighters remaining in the Rafah area.

Civilian and Hamas Casualties

Medical sources in Gaza say at least 13 people were killed in the Sunday attacks. BBC reports six members of the al‑Kassam Brigade were among the dead, including senior commander Yahya al‑Mabhouh, a significant loss for Hamas.

Humanitarian Aid Continues

Haaretz reports that the Israeli government has not called off any humanitarian assistance directed to the Gaza Strip.
