Police at the Białołęka precinct received a complaint that five sewer access covers were missing from the drainage system on Odkryta Street.
The missing covers were found diverted to a scrap yard, as confirmed by surveillance footage.
Police Response and Recovery
Investigators examined the CCTV record and quickly identified the suspect, a local resident who was driving a Toyota.
They secured the stolen covers at the scrap yard and recovered the items during the operation.
Arrest and Interrogation
The suspect was detained near Światowid Street, where he admitted to selling the stolen covers.
The 40‑year‑old was questioned at the Myśliborska Police Station and then handed over to the Praga‑Północ District Prosecutor’s Office.
