Police Arrest 44‑Year‑Old for Threats and Attempted Arson at Platforma Obywatelska Office

Arrest of 44‑Year‑Old Suspect

Polish Warsaw police on 20 October detained a 44‑year‑old man for threatening remarks toward a political figure and for the attempted arson at the Platforma Obywatelska office.

Threatening Remarks on X

In May, the suspect had posted a threat of killing Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the social media platform X. The statement was brought to police attention in June when the case was filed in court.

Attempted Arson at Wiejska 12A

On Friday 17 October around 14:20, witnesses reported a Molotov cocktail thrown at the building at 12A, a street in Warsaw. Police said it was an attempt to burn the office of Platforma Obywatelska.

The case was entered into court in June with an indictment. Investigation and related legal actions are currently underway.
