This week, media reported that former President Andrzej Duda joined the supervisory board of ZEN.COM, a fintech platform founded in 2018 in Rzeszów and dubbed the “Polish Revolut.”

PiS Shocked by Duda’s New Role

Polish Law and Justice (PiS) politicians expressed surprise at Duda’s new appointment, especially because he had left the presidential palace only two and a half months earlier, shortly after taking the company’s owner abroad. Some critics say the move reeks of using a public post for private gain.

Duda Loses Influence Within PiS

PiS officials suggest that Duda’s new job signals his acceptance that returning to active politics will be difficult. They also claim he now has virtually no influence in the party and has been cut off, having burned bridges.

Duda Criticises Kaczyński and Questions 80‑Year‑Old Leadership

In an August interview, Duda questioned why PiS lost the elections and why no one wanted to coalition with them. He expressed serious doubts about an eight‑tye­r‑old deciding Poland’s future, stating, “I have serious doubts.”
