Polish Security Forces Detain Eight Suspects in Sabotage Plot

Eight people across Poland were arrested on 21 October 2025 by the ABW and allied services on suspicion of planning sabotage, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

Cabinet Announcement

On Tuesday, 21 October 2025, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the ABW, working with other services, had detained eight individuals in various parts of the country.

Scope of the Detentions

Those arrested are suspected of preparing acts of sabotage. The case is still developing, and further operational activities are ongoing.

Special services coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak said the investigations cover reconnaissance of military facilities, critical infrastructure, the preparation of sabotage means, and direct attack plans.

Additional Detentions

Deputy Minister Jacek Dobrzyński added that in recent months a total of 55 people have been detained for activities harming Poland, including sabotage preparation.

Hybrid Warfare Context

Polish authorities link these incidents to ongoing hybrid warfare against states supporting Ukraine, citing sabotage, arson, and cyberattacks as part of the broader threat.
