Tram Collision at P+R Aleja Krakowska Loop; Service Restored Before 7 PM

At about 6:30 PM, two trams collided on Warsaw’s P+R Aleja Krakowska loop, leaving no injuries after crews quickly separated the vehicles.

Collision Details

Around 18:30, a tram departing on the left track of the P+R Aleja Krakowska loop struck a tram moving in the opposite direction on the right track. Both vehicles were operating under motorman crews.

Aftermath and Service Disruption

Neither tram derailed, but the collided sets initially jammed the loop and were locked together. Warsaw Tramway technical teams swiftly disengaged the vehicles: one tram was withdrawn while the other was run empty toward the nearest depot, and the same procedure was applied to the second set.

Service was suspended for roughly 20 minutes and resumed at 18:55.

Incident Investigation

Tram Warsaw will conduct an internal investigation into the circumstances and cause of the collision. No passengers were injured.
