Police Arrest Moldovan and Afghan Suspects
On Thursday, Wołomin County Police arrested two Moldovan citizens suspected of organizing illegal border crossings. Five Afghan nationals, illegally present, were also charged.
BMW Pursuit on the S8 Expressway
Criminal Section received information from the Border Guard in Sławatycze about a vehicle potentially carrying illegal migrants. A traffic patrol on S8 near Wola Rasztowska spotted a BMW that ignored stop signals, initiating a chase.
Crash in Kobyłka and Subsequent Arrests
During the escape, the driver lost control, crashing into a drainage ditch in Kobyłka. Four Afghan nationals were arrested on site, while a fifth was detained the following day.
Supplementary Units Secure Additional Moldovan Nationals
Additional patrols, a drone operator, and a service‑dog guide were deployed. Their efforts at the Kobyłka PKP station led to the arrest of two Moldovans aged 19 and 36.
Court Detention and Facing Heavy Penalties
The District Court imposed a three‑month preventive detention on the 19‑ and 36‑year‑olds, who face six months to eight years imprisonment for organising unlawful crossings. The BMW driver also faces up to three years for causing a traffic accident and up to five years for not obeying stop signals.
