A 40‑year‑old drunk Renault driver in Leszczydół‑Pustki, Wyszków, caused a collision and set a 46‑year‑old woman’s vehicle on fire on Sunday evening.
Collision and Fire
Police received a report of a drunk driver on Sunday 19 October. The 40‑year‑old Renault occupant collided with a 46‑year‑old woman’s Volkswagen while traveling through Leszczydół‑Pustki, causing her to slip onto the sidewalk and damage the vehicle. Shortly after, the suspect fled, returned to the property, and set the woman’s car ablaze.
Arrest and Substance Findings
Officers located the suspect on the attic of a nearby farm complex, where he was arrested. A breathalyzer test showed almost 2‰ alcohol and police recovered narcotics in his vehicle. He is held in custody.
Charges and Potential Sentence
On 21 October authorities charged him with driving while intoxicated, property damage and drug possession. With a revoked license, he faces up to five years imprisonment. The case is now before a court.

Additional patrols and firefighting units were dispatched to the site. The rapid response prevented further damage and secured evidence.
