Tusk Rages at PiS, Calls Kaczyński the “Arsonist from Żoliborze”

Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk publicly blasted his rivals after revelations his family was allegedly bugged by Pegasus.

Family Surveillance Allegations

During an interview with Onet, prosecutor Józef Gacek revealed that Donald Tusk’s daughter was interrogated by prosecutors as a victim in a case involving the removal of immunity for Bogdan Święczkowski and prosecutor Paweł Wilkowski – a probe related to the Pegasus software.

Investigators are expected to question the prime minister’s wife, Małgorzata, in the near future, according to unofficial Onet reports.

Tusk’s Response

In reaction to the media findings, Tusk wrote: “It turns out that PiS bugged my wife and daughter with Pegasus. Grandchildren too. Arsonist from Żoliborze?”

He has previously referred to Jarosław Kaczyński as an arsonist, citing a rise in violence in Poland, including an attempt to set fire to the PO headquarters. Tusk claims the PiS president is politically responsible for the incident.

He added that the bugging of his family was probably a move by Kaczyński to protect the institution of the family “in the name of traditional values.”

Earlier, a prosecutor charged former deputy justice minister and PiS MP Michał Wosia with transferring 25 million PLN from the Justice Fund to purchase Pegasus for the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Wosia faces up to ten years in prison for exceeding authority and failing to fulfill duties.

Special Pegasus Investigation

A dedicated investigative team led by prosecutor Józef Gacek is examining the political misuse of the Pegasus surveillance software.
