Preliminary findings show the attack took place in an apartment occupied by 41‑year‑old Krzysztof Sz., who was also hosting the 38‑year‑old Jarosław Z. The two men were drinking together when the assault began.

The attacker struck the victim with a single strike of an axe’s broadhead and then repeatedly stabbed him with a knife near the chest and the left ankle. The victim managed to escape and receive immediate medical help, suffering a hemorrhagic shock that constitutes a severe injury to health.
