Mysterious Helicopter Patrols Szczecin Overnight
Local media reported that a helicopter has been flying over Szczecin almost every day, often late in the evening and sometimes at night. The Głos Koszaliński stated it flies over northern districts, including Osów and Warszew, and was also sighted over the Dąbie Bridge and near the Odra River.
Special Forces Training Flights Explain Sightings
Residents’ unease was amplified by the lack of information about possible military drills. The provincial office, police, and local military units were unaware of the activities. RMF FM revealed that the helicopter, a Mi‑17, belongs to Special Forces conducting pilot training in the area. The training is scheduled to continue until 29 October and the command of the Special Forces component assured that no maneuvers pose a threat to the population.
Warsaw’s Sokrates‑25 Drills Use Drones and Pyrotechnics
In contrast, Warsaw residents received an RCB alert warning of exercises involving pyrotechnics and drones. These drills, under the cryptonym “Sokrates‑25,” are part of the Civil Protection and Defense Program with support from the police and state fire brigade. The aim is to improve crisis response skills and test procedures that ensure the continuity of essential services.
