Polish police on Dymińska Street in Warsaw’s Żoliborz district responded to a loud noise and a call for help while securing a site where a non‑explosive had been found during construction of a building on the Citadel area.
The Crushed Man
Investigators found a man trapped under a 600‑kg steel rail that had fallen onto his chest, blocking breathing and escape.
Rapid Response and Rescue
Using a metal rod, officers pried the rail, carefully extracted the victim, and immediately called for an ambulance. Authorities suspected a spinal injury, so the man was immobilized and monitored until medical crews arrived.
Aftermath and Medical Care
Thanks to the swift action, the victim was handed over to doctors for further treatment. Police praised for professionalism and vigilance.
